Due to low carbon content, it produces stronger welds and provides high strength and corrosion resistance.

The SS321 steel grade constitutes of 0.08% of Carbon, 0.75% of Silicon, 2.00% of Manganese, 0.045% of Phosphorus, 0.030% of Sulphur, 17.00 – 19.00% of Chromium, and 9.00 – 12.00% of Nickel. It is strong and its titanium content stabilizes oxide formation. It also has good intergranular corrosion resistance and is used widely in industry.
In terms of being better, an ss321 bar will provide better shear strength and good elongation. They both have the same thermal and electrical properties. The composition of ss316 is more or less the same, therefore, we need to choose the stainless steel grade according to the product we are using it for.
What is the 321 stainless round bar used for?
Stainless steel 321 round bar is a type of austenitic metal and it is considered very identical to SS 304 except it has titanium and it has five times the carbon content in its composition. This high carbon content makes it resistant to carbide precipitation during welding while titanium stabilizes against chromium carbide formation. It is also stronger than 304 stainless steel.

China has an abundance of vast materials and resources, and the machinery and technology are far more advanced than India, which makes the manufacturing of products a lot cheaper when compared to India. India tries to manufacture goods cheaper for the public but since they are trying to maintain the quality of the products as well, the products tend to cost only a little more than China. These are the reasons why India is not able to manufacture cheaper steel products such as Stainless Steel Grade 317L round bars as well when compared to China.
